We are pleased to announce that we've updated our payment process to offer clients multiple options for making payments.
For the past few years, we've been using Freshbooks to manage our time tracking, estimates and invoices. That has allowed us to accept payments online via credit cards. But, payments were processed through PayPal and this meant that you were required to create a PayPal account. And that sometimes there were issues with getting your payments accepted by PayPal.
We now have the ability to process credit cards online, without leaving the payment screen and without the need for you to create or use a PayPal account. Or, if you want to pay with funds in your PayPal account, you can do that. We can even accept credit card payments over the phone. And, as always we don't store the credit card information on our servers, nor do we have access to our clients' credit cards.
Since the payment screens will change a little, here's a quick explanation of what you'll see and what your options are:
Invoice Screen
When you click the link in your email, you will see this information at the top of your invoice. You may choose to pay via PayPal, or choose to pay online using your credit card.
Important things to note:
- If you choose to pay via PayPal, you must have a PayPal account and be paying with your PayPal balance or linked checking account.
- If you choose to pay via credit card, no PayPal account is required.

Paying with a Credit Card
Clicking Pay Online will take you to the following screen. The address information should be completed for you, so ensure that it matches your credit card billing address or update it as necessary. Fill out the credit card information, click Pay Now and you're done!

Paying with PayPal
Clicking Pay with PayPal will take you to the following series of screens.

Click the Pay with PayPal button again to be directed to the customary PayPal payment screen.

Final Words
You can still make payments mailing a check to the address on your invoice - that hasn't changed! And as always, you will receive a receipt via email from the invoicing system once your payment has been processed.
If you have any questions or issues with this new process, please let us know!

Color Swatches for Adobe - Union Ink Plastisol Screen Printing Inks
Published in Tips and Tricks Written by Lloyd 1 commentHere at Swell we create many designs for textile screen printing... T-shirts, hoodies, caps etc... and we always find ourselves creating new swatches with each new design, and trying to replicate the colors of the plastisol screen printing inks that our vendors use to print on textiles. Quite frankly, it's a big pain AND it doesn't allow for much consistency in the proofs we send our customers. One problem that we have had in the past is that most manufacturers of plastisol inks don't really use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to describe their colors. Ink colors are usually named things like "Dallas Green" or "Aurora Pink" so there is no standard for on-screen matching. Well, thanks to the fine folks at McBee Supply, Union Ink, and yours truly... we now have a new set of color swatches for use in all of our Adobe products!

Pinterest... I'm sure you've heard of it by now... more likely you are insanely addicted and "pinning" fervently. (I know at least SOME of us here at Swell are "Pin-dicted"). The concept is simple. You "pin" images of things you like, create a collection of those items (called a "pinboard") then share your collection with your friends. Harmless fun, right? And a great way to share ideas. Most people would agree, but there are those who are questioning where Pinterest falls on copyright side of things. After all, you are pinning images that you don't necessarily own the rights to. Is this infringement? Some say yes.

The San Antonio Highland Games Association was looking for a new website that was expandable and readily editable by non-technical SAHGA volunteers. They wanted to build awareness of both the organization and its events.
Not only did we provide them with a website built in the Joomla CMS (something easily updatable, even by non-technical folks), but we helped them with a full package of marketing materials for the 2009 Highland Games. The package included display ads for several local papers, billboards, and the event program.

If you've looked into setting up a new website or reworking your old one, and especially if you've talked with me about it, you've probably heard the term Content Management System (or CMS). While a content management system is not required for every website (see the sidebar), many site owners will find one to be very useful, if not critical to their day to day site management.
Lloyd is a wonderful person to work with. Give him your ideas/thoughts and he always delivers professional and creative designs. I have worked with his company on several business ventures and I am always pleased, not only with his work, but their rates are very reasonable. They are great people and he has always been kind and reliable.
